The center of Vail Village is home to dozens of hotels, shops, restaurants, bars and après hot spots. Lined with cobblestones and architecture features reminiscent of a centuries-old European village, these shopping and dining passageways are car-free zones, allowing for an outdoor experience like no other.
There is certainly no shortage of activities in Vail Village. Outdoor dining, guided walking tours, movie theaters, a bowling alley, ice skating and free concerts can all be enjoyed here, as well as exciting yearly events like the Vail Oktoberfest. Originally built in the late 60s, Lionshead Vail is completely closed off to cars and busses. It offers a pleasant pedestrian experience with easy walking access to the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Chair #8 Born Free Express and Lionshead ski School.
It is home to some of the best hotels in Vail, including the luxury Arrabelle Hotel and Square that has an outdoor ice rink, and numerous shops and restaurants. Golden Peak
Golden Peak is a peaceful and convenient spot just 5 minutes walk east of Vail Village. The area serves as the base of Riva Bahn Express Lift (#6) and home to the Golden Peak ski rental shop and Golden Peak Ski School. It is the main access point to Vail’s Golden Peak Terrain Park, which boasts a 22-foot halfpipe and hosts the Burton U.S. Open. It is also the main access point to the bottom of Northwoods (Chair #11) – a favorite area on the mountain for skiers and riders.
