Every season is different – some years the resorts are able to open a vast amount of terrain on opening day after large early season storms. Resorts invest heavily into snow making operations so even without the assistance of Mother Nature the resorts are able to make snow to ensure terrain is available opening day. Most seasons the resorts have opened 95% of the ski terrain by late December; historically, March records the most snow fall of the season. Speak with our specialists today for more information, you can contact them on reservations@travelwhisperer.com

Spring skiing conditions typically starts in late March through the remaining weeks of the season. Spring in the mountains is full of sun-filled afternoons on the slopes, goggle tans from mountains picnics, barbeques and après, great events and even better lodging deals. While many people don’t consider planning a ski trip in April, the slopes are still fun and it is one of the most affordable months to visit.

Bears hibernate during the winter months so they are a more prevalent problem during Spring, Summer, and Fall months. Black bears are relatively common sightings in and around our resorts but there are simple measures guests can take to avoid any conflict with them. First, ensure all garbage is disposed in designated, indoor trash receptacles. Bears have an extremely good sense of smell and will detect food waste from miles away. Be sure to lock ground floor windows, doors, and garage doors in the evenings or when away from the residence. Experts advise to make noise while out hiking to alert bears to your presence without startling them. Be watchful of your surroundings to avoid startling a bear or coming between a mother bear and her cubs. Should you come into contact with a solitary bear, experts advise increasing your posture and making noise as bears tend to be timid, especially when faced with an aggressor. Do not turn your back on the animal.
We make a special effort to ensure all guests enjoy their time at our rental units. When contacting our Personal Travel Designers, they will be more than happy to prioritize accommodations that cater to those with a disability.
