Overview

When it comes to witnessing the famed Great Migration, Rekero Camp is ideally located. The nine-tent camp is situated in the very heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara, and overlooks the Talek River migration crossing point.

Not only can guests witness vast herds of wildebeest without even needing to leave, Rekero Camp is also home to a dazzlingly abundant and diverse array of wildlife.

Rooms

Nestled within the embrace of the forest canopy, nine luxurious safari tents offer a serene retreat along the banks of the Talek River. Each tent ensures the utmost tranquility with a personal veranda, outfitted with a daybed perfect for an afternoon slumber or for observing the leisurely pace of zebras wandering by the river’s edge.

Amenities

Every tent is complemented with an en-suite bathroom, with a flushing lavatory and hot-water showers. The tents also have battery charging facilities and a complimentary laundry service.

All guests are treated to a delicious range of homemade meals. These include either a continental buffet or full-English style breakfast, a lunch either at the camp or packed for your drive, and a three course dinner.

Safari

Game drives are scheduled during the early mornings and late afternoons, in order to capitalize on the times when wildlife is most active, due to the cooler temperatures. The specific departure times can vary based on the season and whether you are in a private or shared vehicle, yet the structure of the day tends to be consistent.

Your day begins with an early morning wake-up call, accompanied by tea or coffee, and a brief breakfast before you head out (or you can choose to take your breakfast with you). You’ll make your way back to camp by mid-morning, just in time to unwind before enjoying lunch.

Following lunch and some downtime during the afternoon, your late afternoon/evening game drive will commence, including a stop for sundowners. Upon returning, enjoy leisure time for drinks at the bar and an atmospheric dinner beneath the stars.

Low Season

Pricing is more affordable in most safari destinations during the rainy seasons. Kenya is an amazing destination all year round and there’s some great deals to be had in low season. During these months, you also get to avoid any crowds!
