Overview
Roho ya Selous (meaning “heart of the Selous” in Swahili) is situated on a peninsular overlooking Lake Nzerakera in the very heart of the Nyerere National Park. Unlike other safari lodges, Roho ya Selous does not feature rolling savannahs, but rather a marshy landscape with palm trees, rivers and lakes.
The camp’s proximity to the lake not only makes it an ideal destination for wildlife viewing, but also for water-based activities such as boat safaris and fishing. This stunning landscape is, of course, home to an array of wildlife, who seek the solace and sustenance provided by the lake.

Roho ya Selous features 8 spacious, stretch canvas tents. The rooms are elegantly designed with a blend of modern comfort and traditional African style. Each room is spacious and well-appointed, featuring comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with modern amenities, and private verandas or balconies overlooking the picturesque landscapes.

Safari
With the camp being situated in the heart of one of the park’s most wildlife-rich areas, guests have the chance to experience a variety of ecosystems, from riverine forests to expansive savannahs and wetlands.
