Primate Lodge is an eco-lodge in Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park. Conveniently located near the starting point for chimpanzee trekking and the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, the lodge offers guests superb access to some of Uganda’s most captivating wildlife encounters.

The ten luxury cottages at Primate Lodge are nestled within the lush greenery that surrounds the main structures. Crafted from timber, glass, stone, and thatch, they seamlessly blend with the serene environment.
Accessible via a ramp, the glass-paneled doors open to spacious sleeping and living quarters.

The lodge offers a number of amenities, with each cottage furnished with either two double beds or a king-size bed, a cozy sitting area with armchairs, reading tables, and an en-suite bathroom with hot showers to ensure comfort in the heart of the forest. Verandas provide a secluded spot to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding wilderness, while the lodge’s honeymoon cottage offers additional exclusivity with private lounging and dining areas.
The main lodge features a spacious open-air terrace where guests enjoy freshly prepared meals inspired by local and international flavors. A well-stocked bar is available for evening relaxation, along with a lounge area that encourages socializing and sharing stories of the day’s adventures. A Typical Day
After settling into their forest-view cottage, guests often unwind on their veranda, soaking in the serene sights and sounds of the rainforest. The evening begins with a delicious dinner served on the lodge’s open-air terrace, where fresh, locally inspired dishes are enjoyed as the sun sets over the forest.
The next morning, guests embark on a guided chimpanzee tracking adventure, setting off from the nearby trailhead to explore the rainforest and observe Kibale’s famous primates in their natural habitat. After a morning filled with exhilarating wildlife encounters, guests return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch and relaxation. Afternoons can be spent enjoying a soothing massage, taking a guided forest walk, or relaxing in the cozy lounge with a refreshing drink. In the evening, guests gather around the bar or fireplace to share stories of their adventures, bringing a perfect close to the day.

Low Season
Pricing is more affordable in many destinations during the rainy season. However, it’s important to remember that Uganda is a fantastic year-round destination with excellent deals available in the low season. Visiting during these months also allows you to avoid larger crowds!
